Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. has launched its high performance contactless UHF Gen 2 RFID reader , which supports remote firmware management and monitoring. The UHF Gen 2 RFID reader is designed for applications using a large number of tags and requiring two or more antennas. It is especially suitable for real time status verification as well as modification. EPC Gen 2 RFID tags compliant with ISO 18000-6c are available from GAO RFID for this RFID reader.
GAO RFID Inc.’s Gen 2 reader, model 216004, can operate in an autonomous mode that allows it to be activated by external triggers or timing. Users are able to regulate the parameters for timing, protocols, antenna usage and other elements. It is furnished with an XScale processor, Linux OS, 64MB RAM and 32MB Flash memory. This highly flexible system achieves low network latency and thus can offer outstanding read rates. With an IP53 protection rating, the reader is resistant to dust and moisture and performs well even in harsh environments. In addition, the RFID reader is able to save up to 2500 data records into non-volatile memory, ensuring the protection of important data in case of power or network failure.
