Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. recommends its high frequency (HF) and ultra high frequency (UHF) RFID antenna multiplexers, which enable multiple antennas inputs at multiple read points to be integrated and read by a single RFID reader. Both the MXH (HF multiplexer) and MXU (UHF multiplexer) are equipped with either 4 or 8 antenna ports so as to expand a reader’s capability according to the specific requirements of an application. An RFID antenna multiplexer solution can save on infrastructure investment for its users by minimizing the number of readers deployed when multiple read-points are required.
Digital control of the multiplexers, model 733001, is accomplished by either a host processor or a reader module allowing any of the eight antennas to be addressed explicitly using three GPIO pins. Further scalability can be achieved by adding additional multiplexers so that a reader module can support more than eight antennas.
