Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. has launched its 2.45GHz active temperature sensing RFID tag. It is useful for identifying the exact time of temperature changes and is ideal for monitoring refrigerated items en route. This tag is designed for identification and location of items in such applications as cold logistics including the transportation of food and medicine.
This active temperature sensing RFID tag, model 127003, operates at a frequency range of 2.4GHz to 2.5GHz at an RF output power is 0dbm. It has the ability to collect temperature data in real time and transmit the data to a reader for recording. This tag uses an anti-collision algorithm allowing one hundred tags to be read simultaneously without operational interference. It has a maximum read range of 100m and a long battery life of up to 4 years. In addition, this active RFID tag can trigger an alarm if a tagged item’s temperature falls beyond preset limits.
