Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc.has released its Gen 2 RFID Tire tag which survives the high temperatures encountered in the tire curving process. The tag is embedded into the tire mould prior to the manufacture and curing of the tire, so that the tire can be tracked electronically. The highly robust RFID tag has a flexible construction enabling it to withstand tire deformation. It can be built into a truck tire which can be recapped several times. This RFID tag supports read distances of up to 1m when embedded into the tire.
The Gen 2 RFID tire tag, model 116043, operates in 860 to 950MHz frequency band for worldwide use and conforms to ISO 16000-6C or EPC class 1 Gen 2 standards. It boasts factory programmed tag identification number to prevent cloning. This practical tire tag uses 96-bit programmable EPC number and 192bit user memory with lock capability. The tag is sturdy enough to be operational throughout the duration of the tire’s life span.
