Active USB RFID Reader Operating in Unlicensed 2.45GHz Frequency

Toronto, CanadaGAO RFID Inc. has launched its high performance contactless active RFID USB reader, employing advanced 0.18um CMOS IC technology that allows for its ultra-low power consumption. It operates in the unlicensed 2.45GHz frequency which enables the reader to be used worldwide. This optimized RFID reader is widely used in locating personnel, logistics, warehouse management, closed loop asset tracking and high value asset tracking.

The 2.45GHz active RFID USB reader, model217003, reads tags at a high speed of 100tags/second with high reliability. This RFID reader supports the USB 2.0 interface and provides two selectable modes: direct and buffering. The direct mode is designed for readers to upload messages to the host system in real time. In buffering mode readers can receive and save messages which are uploaded only when requested by the host system. Its built-in omni-directional antenna enables it to identify transponder tagged items from 15 to 20 meters in all directions.
