Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. is offering this 2.45 GHz active USB RFID reader. It employs advanced 0.18 µm CMOS IC technology allowing for ultra-low power consumption. This UHF active RFID reader is widely used in personnel locating, logistics, warehouse management, closed loop asset tracking and high value asset tracking.
The 2.45 GHz active RFID USB reader, model 217003, operates in the unlicensed 2.45 GHz band enabling the reader to be used globally. It reads tags at a high speed of 100 tags/second with high reliability and provides two selectable modes: direct and buffering. The direct mode is designed for readers to upload messages to the host system in real time. In buffering mode, readers can receive and save messages which are uploaded only when requested by the host system. This Active RFID reader has a large buffer capacity to store the 100 newest messages and communicates with a computer through a USB2.0 interface for data exchange. In addition, its built-in omni-directional antenna enables it to identify tagged items from 15 to 20 meters in all directions.
This 2.45 GHz active RFID USB reader belongs to GAO’s 2.54 GHz Active RFID Readers family of products and works well with GAO’s 2.45 GHz Active RFID Tags. More advanced models in the family are the 217001, and 217002. GAO RFID has one of the broadest portfolios of RFID readers and tags in the industry.
