Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. has launched its high performance contactless passive Gen 2 RFID tag, designed as a hang-tag. It is suitable for applications where tag reusability is not required. This RFID tag is an ideal solution for tracking items in severe industrial environments such as industrial electrophoretic painting processes used in the automotive industry. It supports the EPC Class 1 Gen 2 communication protocol.
This Gen 2 RFID tag, model 116402, operates in the frequency range of 865MHz to 928MHz and has a maximum read distance of three meters. When used in an auto manufacturing process, this practical Gen 2 RFID tag is typically attached to the chassis of a car at the beginning of the manufacturing process and continues to function through the entire car production sequence. Encapsulated within a high temperature resistant plastic case, it performs well even when subjected to several chemical baths, painting and cleansing processes, high temperature and physical stressors. In comparison with permanent tags, this passive UHF tag helps to reduce costs related to indirect maintenance and labor.
