2.45 GHz Active RFID from GAO RFID

GAO RFID presents its line of 2.45 GHz Active RFID readers and tags. Active RFID technology provides highly reliable, extremely long range identification systems with high data transmission speeds. Because active tags are always ‘talking’ they offer the advantage of knowing in real time where an asset or person is without having to scan for the information as with passive technology. GAO also offers active RFID tags that provide varios functionality such as temperature reporting, tamper sensoring or movement detection.

GAO’s 2.45 GHz Active Readers

Gain Adjustable Active RFID Reader
The 2.45 GHz Gain Adjustable RFID Reader uses a built in omni-directional antenna allowing it to identify transponder tagged items up to 100 meters in all directions. Users can adjust the identification distance from less than 5 meters to 100 meters according to actual situations in order to make identification more accurate. The reader uses an advanced 0.18 µm CMOS IC for ultra-low power consumption.

Gain Adjustable Active RFID Reader with WiFi
Similar to the 2.45GHz Gain Adjustable RFID Reader above this reader uses a built in omni-directional antenna allowing it to identify transponder tagged items up to 100 meters in all directions. Users can adjust the identification distance from less than 5 meters to 100 meters according to actual situations in order to make identification more accurate. The reader uses an advanced 0.18 µm CMOS IC for ultra-low power consumption. This active reader also uses WiFi (802.11b wireless communication standard) for data transmission to a host system.

Active RFID USB Reader
Using a standard USB 2.0 interface, this reader connects to any USB enabled computer device and provides a read range of 15 to 20 m. The Active USB reader operates in two different modes. In ‘Direct’ mode the USB reader transfers its data to the host system in real time. In ‘Buffer’ mode the reader can stores its last 100 received messages and uploads them only when requested by the host system.

GAO’s 2.45 GHz Active Tags

Active RFID Temperature Sensor Tag
GAO’s active temperature sensor tag transmits real time temperatures ranging from -50°Cto 150°C at a range of up to 100 m. GAO’s Software monitors and logs the tag ID, time-stamp, and temperature. Also via software, a trigger can be set up to alert when the tag is in a certain temperature range. It is an excellent solution for use in cold logistics or transportation of medicine.

Active Key Fob RFID Tag
GAO’s active key fob tag provides a read range of between 15 to 30 m. The tag features a panic button to immediately alert the moitoring system of an event. This tag also features a replaceable battery ensuring a long life.

Active RFID Card Tag
GAO’s active RFID card tag provides up to 100 m of read range yet uses very little power. Life exptencey is approximately 4 years. The tags unique anti collision feature allows for a simultaneous read of up to 100 tags. It is typically used for personnel and security applications or asset management. A slot in the card allows for the attachment of a lanyard or tie.

Active RFID Strip Tag
GAO’s active RFID strip tag is our simplest tag and provides up to 100m read range and a unique anti collision feature allows for a simultaneous read of up to 100 tags. The tag is typically used for asset management and its typical battery life is 4 years

Vibration Sensing Active RFID Tag
GAO’s vibration sensing RFID tag detects and transmits the presence of continuous or impulsive vibration so that the moitoring system can tell when in item is being moved or is in motio and is typically used to secure various assets to provide an alarm system. The tag provides up to 100m read range and a unique anti collision feature allows for a simultaneous read of up to 100 tags. It has a typical battery life of 4 years.

Active RFID Wristband Tag
GAO’s active RFID wristband tag is typically used in personnel and patient tracking. The tag features a tamper resitant function in the event the wearer attempts to remove it, which is suitable where the wearer requires special care. The tag also features a “call” button that can be pressed by the wearer to send an alert that immediate attention is required. The tag provides up to 100m read range and a unique anti collision feature allows for a simultaneous read of up to 100 tags. It has a typical battery life of 4 years.

Active Beaconing RFID Tag
GAO’s active beaconing RFID tag is especially useful in asset locating & tracking and warehouse inventory management. In a typical application, a user would locate the area of the asset and program the ID for the specific item into the RFID reader. When the reader signals the tag, its built in LED will flash making the asset easy to locate. This tag provides a read range of up to 30 m. It also provides a tamper resistant mechanism causing it to send an alert if an attempt is made to remove the tag.
