Toronto, Canada – GAO RFID Inc. has launched its Gen 2 RFID tire tag which is intended to be embedded into a tire mould before the manufacture and curing of the tire. This highly robust RFID tag has a flexible construction enabling it to withstand tire deformation. It can be built into truck tires which can be recapped several times.
This UHF Gen 2 RFID tire tag, model 116043, operates over a frequency range of 860MHz to 950MHz for worldwide use and is compliant with ISO 16000-6C and EPC class 1 Gen 2 standards. It offers a maximum read distance of 1m and a maximum write distance of 0.7m when embedded within the tire. This tire tag has a factory programmed tag identification number to prevent cloning. It has a 96-bit programmable EPC number and a 192-bit user memory with lock capability. In addition, the tag survives high temperatures encountered in the tire curving process and is sturdy enough to remain operational throughout the life of the tire.
